Stocks Faring Away From Broker’s Choice: ParkerVision (NASDAQ:PRKR), Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT)

ParkerVision, Inc. (PRKR) reported that in light of a recent ruling by the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) disallowing key factual evidence in the Company’s ITC proceedings, the Company is filing a motion to terminate its ITC investigation. ParkerVision was advised of this confidential ruling just prior to the start of the ITC hearing which is slated to begin.

In its motion to the Commission, ParkerVision stated that it was–and remains– fully prepared to try its case based on evidence produced and obtained from respondents in the investigation that proves the accused products infringe the asserted claims of the ‘528 patent. However, in light of the ALJ’s recent rulings excluding material portions of the Company’s evidence, ParkerVision determined that it can no longer proceed with its case before the Commission. The ALJ is expected to rule on ParkerVision’s motion shortly. The stock is going forward its fifty-two week low with 20.65% and lagging behind from its 52-week high price with -72.86%.

Similar, the positive performance for the quarter recorded as -5.93% and for the year was -32.73%, while the YTD performance remained at 20.65%. PRKR has Average True Range for 14 days of 0.30.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) [Trend Analysis] retains strong position in active trade, as shares scoring -0.21% to $69.95 in active trade session, while looking at the shares volume, around 6.66 Million shares have changed hands in this session. Facing lackluster sales in the world’s fifth-largest consumer market, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is making a contrarian bet in Brazil, investing heavily to revamp its U.S.-style big-box stores even as shoppers increasingly flock to smaller, cheaper options.

Wal-Mart has said it plans to spend 1 billion reais, or some $320 million, over three years on upgrades to its hypermarkets in Brazil, mostly sticking with a strategy it has followed here for two decades. Wal-Mart’s net sales in the country have been sluggish in… The firm has institutional ownership of 29.60%, while insider ownership included 0.90%. WMT attains analyst recommendation of 2.70 with week’s performance of 0.84%. Investors looking further ahead will note that the Price to next year’s EPS is 5.10%.
