Attorneys in the antitrust trial concerning Aetna Inc.’s proposed $37 billion acquisition of Humana Inc. made their closing statements Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The Connecticut Mirror reports that U.S. District Court Judge John Bates asked probing questions of attorneys for the U.S. Justice Department, which is seeking to block the deal, and of attorneys for the insurance giants.

Among the questions: whether the deal violated antitrust laws if the Justice Department had managed to prove only that the merger would result in unacceptable lack of competition in one county or one state. Justice Department attorney Eric Mahr said it would, according to the report. The share price of AET attracts active investors, as stock price of week volatility recorded 2.08%. The stock is going forward to its 52-week low with 38.10% and lagging behind from its 52-week high price with -7.12%.
